process

letterpress printing is a relief printing process founded by johannes gutenberg in the mid-15th century.

moveable type or plates press against the paper through a printing press to leave an impression and/or ink.  the weight of your paper and the pressure of the press determine how deep your impression will be.

the hand-fed pressing process that i use is a manual one, that allows for each piece and pressing to be unique and custom done.  please keep in mind that with such an organic process, there will be slight variations from batch to batch.

design + pricing

tiny bones press can work with an existing logo and/or design that you already have or i am readily available to design your project with you.  each custom design has an additional base design fee and includes three rounds of adjustment, with additional charges applicable after the third round.

the entire process, from design concepting to delivery, can take between 4-6 weeks / sometimes more, sometimes less, depending on the scope of the project.  there are many sensitive variables in each project and i do strive to simplify and make everything move as smoothly as possible.

  • coloration : black ink is included with production, a custom ink solo or in addition to black will be an an additional fee
  • if you have a specified design, font or paper preference or if you need some help with any or all 3!

once I review everything, I will send you a quote and a projected timeline.

there are various options such as adding color, thicker paper stock and envelope pressing as well.

if you have a specific project with a specific budget in mind, please don't hesitate to reach out and I will try to work with your needs as best as I can.

policies

tiny bones press accepts paypal, certified check + cash (if you are in the NYC area).

all sales are final.

for custom design orders, once you have approved preliminary timeline and price range, you will need to submit a 50% deposit to start the design + production process.  once production is complete, you will receive an email with the photo of your completed job and a final payment request.  once received, i will ship out the order and send you tracking information.

if for any reason, you have begun the design process, but do not want to continue the production process, i will refund you your 50% deposit less the design fees and a 20% cancellation fee.

at the end of the design process, you will receive a proof via email to approve before production begins.  please proof very carefully, as tiny bones press is not responsible for any errors that were present on the approved proofs.
