october twenty-nineteen

the coinciding of the first of the month also being on a friday really makes this month’s newsletter a proper look back and look forward.

october is one of my favorite months (despite my dislike of halloween, sorry everyone) for the beautiful fall weather in new york. there’s that crispness to the air, but it’s not cold yet, and there’s that faint hint of excitement for the holidays. of course, the excitement is also a bit anxiety inducing.

nothing helps me reduce anxiety better than penning a proper plan to get things done. i love lists and everything seems much more manageable in small bits.

one of the best things that happened this month was bringing home a “tiny” three by five tabletop pilot press from afternoon editions. anna is the sweetest and with all her large litho work, this lil press was looking for a new space. i picked him up in brooklyn, took him to a jenny holzer viewing at rockefeller center (my arms wish i was kidding) and stay tuned… you might just see us out on the town in the next couple of months!

we also were able to finalize our holiday offerings and are super excited to share them with you!

both gift boxes are limited to 50 and are only available from november 15th through december 15th. they are the perfect holiday present - whether it’s for yourself or someone else.

sending a custom giftbox of letterpressed stationery set is one of my ultimate favorite gifts to give almost anyone. blank notecards can be used for any occasion and always come in handy - around the holiday season, they become essential as people start receiving presents and giving thanks. what a better idea than to give someone the opportunity to connect with a friend or say thank you for something that meant something to them? especially when you can customize it to that person’s style - you can’t really get more thoughtful.

offering number one : custom design box

you can choose any one of our current stationery designs and customize it to be on your favorite of our paper stocks in either gold foil or black or blind letterpress. each birch plywood gift box comes with 20 cards + envelopes. $95.

offering number two : custom monogram design box

want to go a bit further? you can replace a design for an initial in the bottom right hand corner of your card. same capabilities of choosing your favorite paper stock, but this one is limited to black or blind letterpress. there are 3 fonts to choose from and once you place the order, you will be sent the 3 options in each of them to help you make your decision. each birch plywood gift box comes with 20 cards + envelopes. $150.

and now… on to the adventuring!

this past month, i got out even further east to the parrish art museum in the hamptons and finally, harper books. the helen frankenthaler show was such an incredible one. i’ve never seen her work before in person and it was moving to stand in front of such giant pieces and swaths of really good color. the harper books experience was akin to going to a very beautifully curated, visually inspiring library. truly - my dream space.

going further into dream spacing, the month came to a close with going to see david byrne’s american utopia at the hudson theater. i originally bought tickets to the tour when he played in brooklyn last year and was sooo determined to go thirty-two weeks pregnant. and then well, i actually was thirty-two weeks pregnant and i sold the tickets. mike and i celebrated our five year wedding anniversary this past july and he got us the best seats that anyone could have ever had. the show was one of the most spiritual experiences i’ve encountered. i know that sounds dramatic, but it was.

oh and also, my babies turned ONE.

so whoa, what an october.

how was yours?

as always,

megan
